By using the Project Golden Age website or any associated product, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use our services.

2. Description of Service

Project Golden Age provides software products designed to help users preserve and manage their digital context. Our current product, gulaq, is a Chrome extension and desktop application for saving browser workspaces and AI conversations to a local vault.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any product or feature at any time with or without notice.

3. Early-Stage Software Disclaimer

Our products are in active development. Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. You acknowledge that you are using software that may be in beta or early-access stages and that bugs, data loss, or unexpected behavior may occur.

You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of any data stored in our products. We strongly recommend exporting your data regularly. Project Golden Age is not liable for data loss arising from software defects, hardware failure, or user error.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use our website or products to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
• Capture, store, or distribute data you do not have authorization to access.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with our software beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of our products.
• Use our products to collect or harvest data from third-party platforms in violation of those platforms’ own terms of service.
• Transmit malware, spam, or other harmful code.

5. Intellectual Property

The Project Golden Age name, gulaq name, logos, website design, and software products are the intellectual property of Project Golden Age. Nothing in these terms grants you a license to use our trademarks, trade names, or branding without our prior written consent.

6. Account and Authentication

Some products require you to create an account or sign in using a third-party provider (such as Google). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

7. Pricing and Future Paid Features

Our products are currently free to use. Paid tiers (such as a Pro version) may be introduced in the future. If paid features are introduced, pricing, billing terms, and cancellation rights will be clearly disclosed before any purchase, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.

If payments are introduced, payment processing will be handled by third-party providers. We will not store full payment card details.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR WEBSITE AND PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that our products will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any defects will be corrected or that our products will meet your requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PROJECT GOLDEN AGE AND ITS FOUNDERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

• Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) our website or products;
• Any data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access to your local vault or cloud account;
• Any bugs, errors, or defects in our software;
• Any changes to or discontinuation of our products or services;
• Any third-party platform changes that affect product functionality (e.g. AI chat platform DOM changes).

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF OUR PRODUCTS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIABILITY. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Project Golden Age and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these terms or misuse of our products.

Our website and products may reference or link to third-party services (such as AI platforms, Supabase, or GitHub). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third-party services. Use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts competent for the principal place of operation of Project Golden Age.

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of our products after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made.
