gulaq Terms of Use

1. What gulaq Is

gulaq is a Chrome browser extension (Manifest V3) and Tauri desktop application that allows you to save and restore browser workspaces, capture AI conversations, and store data in a local SQLite vault on your device.

2. Beta and Early-Stage Software

gulaq is in active development. You acknowledge that:

• The software may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features.
• Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice.
• Data loss may occur due to software defects, hardware failure, or unexpected behavior.
• The software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind (see Section 10).

3. Your Local Vault — Your Responsibility

The local SQLite vault that stores your workspaces, AI chats, and exports is stored on your own device. You are solely responsible for:

• Maintaining backups of your local vault data.
• Ensuring your device has sufficient storage for the vault.
• Protecting access to your device and the vault files.

Project Golden Age is not responsible for data lost due to device failure, accidental deletion, uninstallation, or any other cause. We strongly recommend using the export and backup features regularly.

4. AI Platform Compatibility

gulaq captures AI conversations by reading the visible DOM of supported AI platforms. You acknowledge that:

• AI platform websites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot) may change their page structure at any time without notice.
• Such changes may temporarily or permanently break gulaq’s ability to capture conversations from one or more platforms.
• Project Golden Age does not guarantee uninterrupted capture capability for any specific platform.
• We will attempt to update gulaq to restore compatibility when we become aware of platform changes, but we cannot guarantee repair timelines.

5. Browser Session Continuity

When gulaq saves and restores browser workspaces, it restores tab URLs. You acknowledge that:

• Restored tabs may require you to sign in again if your session has expired on those websites.
• gulaq does not save, store, or restore cookies, passwords, or auth tokens for third-party websites.
• Some tabs may not restore to the exact state they were in when saved (e.g. tabs that require a session or dynamic content).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use gulaq only for lawful purposes. You must not use gulaq to:

• Capture, store, or distribute data you do not have authorization to access.
• Violate the terms of service of any AI platform or website whose content you capture.
• Automate capture in ways that violate platform rate limits or anti-automation policies.
• Circumvent access controls, CAPTCHAs, or authentication systems.
• Capture private or confidential information belonging to others without consent.
• Distribute or resell captured AI conversations in violation of the originating platform’s terms.
• Use gulaq in any way that constitutes unauthorized scraping under applicable law.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of gulaq complies with the terms of service of every third-party platform whose content you capture or interact with.

7. Authentication and Account

gulaq requires sign-in via Supabase Auth (currently supporting Google OAuth). By signing in you agree to Supabase’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in addition to these terms. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

8. Free Access

gulaq is currently free to use, with full feature access and no payment requirement. We reserve the right to change which features are free in the future; any such change will be disclosed within the application and on this website before it takes effect.

9. Future Pricing

Paid tiers (such as a gulaq Pro version) may be introduced in the future. If that happens, pricing, billing cycles, and included features will be disclosed before any purchase, subscriptions will be cancellable at any time, and refund eligibility will be stated at the time of purchase subject to applicable consumer protection laws.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

GULAQ IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. PROJECT GOLDEN AGE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT GULAQ WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM DATA LOSS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PROJECT GOLDEN AGE AND ITS FOUNDERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data stored in the local vault or the cloud account;
• Loss of AI conversations, workspace data, or exported files;
• Inability to capture from an AI platform due to platform-side changes;
• Device failure, accidental deletion, or software bugs resulting in data loss;
• Interruption of service or feature changes;
• Unauthorized access to your local vault or account resulting from your failure to secure your device or credentials.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE GULAQ-SPECIFIC TERMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO PROJECT GOLDEN AGE FOR GULAQ IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50).

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

12. Changes to gulaq and These Terms

We may update gulaq and these terms at any time. Continued use of gulaq after a terms update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made.

These documents are provided for transparency and Chrome Web Store review purposes and may be updated as Project Golden Age and gulaq evolve.
